Description

 This four-module course teaches the essential principles of person-centred dementia care, emphasising that every individual's experience is unique. It equips supporters with skills to understand and manage challenging emotions and behaviours, viewing them as communication of unmet needs. The course provides practical techniques for sensitive communication and promoting a person's independence and self-esteem in daily life. Crucially, it highlights the importance of carer wellbeing, urging supporters to prioritise their own health and seek necessary assistance. Ultimately, the course aims to foster compassionate and dignified support as the condition progresses.
